Gonneke Warnars

Gonneke Warnars creates landscape paintings in her own distinctive style. Her work explores nature and its forms, reflections of light, the play of water, and the search for a “new summer” of shapes and sensations.

In her artworks, she combines oil pastel, oil stick, oil paint, charcoal, soft pastel, and pencil. These materials allow her to build rich textures and convey a sense of clarity and purity.

She graduated from the Wackers Academie, a classical drawing and painting school in Amsterdam. Her inspiration comes from post-impressionist artists such as the French Nabis group, Henri Rousseau, and Henri Matisse.

Artist Statement:
“I try to express a sense of tranquility, to evoke a magical atmosphere and a feeling of beauty, capturing a moment of freedom and a touch of humor.”
