Roshan Vider

Born in Argentina in 1958, he studied Design and Visual Communication at the University of Buenos Aires. In 1980 he moved to Cologne, Germany where he continued and deepened his studies at the Cologne Art School. Since 1984 he has dedicated himself to painting. Traveling around the world, in particular to India, he experienced different techniques of meditation and self-knowledge, which are reflected in his work.

His technique is both simple and mysterious; Acrylic paint and other materials are extended on the canvas by using spatulas, in multiple layers, to create transparencies, lights and shadows. His work tells us about the macro and the micro-cosmos: the detail in the whole and the whole in the detail. Some of his paintings reflect inner spaces which may be called mystic. Others reflect strength and an intense search throughout a harmony of colours and forms that transcend ordinary aesthetics.

Roshan lives and works in Costa Rica where he shares his work as an artist and as a therapist with people from around the world.

The work of Roshan has been exhibited in galleries and institutions worldwide
