Jean Claude Lahaut

Born 28th August 1955 in Auderghem

After brilliant studies in Latin and Science, he followed an artistic training in Ceramics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wavre and the Academy of Fine Arts in Charleroi where he rubed shoulders with renowned teachers such as Marie Delforge, Christian Mazy and Jean Claude Legrand. His minimalist work shows a great concern for purity and balance. Ingenious and inventive, he plays ancestral techniques such as Raku (Zen tea ceremony philosophy) or smoking.

In 2012 his first creations in bronze came out crucibles with very personal patinas giving another dimension to his pieces of a pure and unique design.
