Amanda Poortvliet
Observing people, and looking for their personal unique characteristics, is what is driving Amanda Poortvliet (1965) to paint portraits. She paints her portraits in her Dutch atelier, close to Amsterdam.
Besides commissioned portraits, she also paints humans and animals. The diptychs with gold leaf are an example for her realistic style. Her animals are showing a glimpse of human expressions.
